We’re so glad you found us! The Barony of Forgotten Sea is part of the Kingdom of Calontir within the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) — a worldwide community dedicated to exploring the arts, skills, and culture of the Middle Ages through hands-on learning, creativity, and friendship.
Whether you’re interested in combat and chivalry, arts and crafts, archery, music, feasting, or just spending time with welcoming people, there’s a place for you here.

The SCA is all about learning and doing — and we love to share what we know!
In Forgotten Sea, you’ll find people involved in:

- 🎨 Arts & Sciences like clothing, calligraphy, illumination, cooking, and woodworking

You don’t have to know how to do anything before you start — we’ll help you find your interests and connect you with people eager to teach.

🧭 Newcomer Mentorship Program
Everyone was new once — and we want you to feel welcome from your very first visit!
Our Mentor/Mentee Program pairs new participants with experienced members who can:
- Answer questions about local customs, events, and activities
- Help you connect with people who share your interests
- Guide you through your first event or class
If you’d like to be matched with a mentor or just want help finding your way, reach out to our Chatelaine — our friendly newcomer coordinator and your first stop for questions.
👗 What to Expect
For your first meeting, just come as you are — no special clothing or equipment required!
When you’re ready to attend your first event, you’ll need some basic garb (period-style clothing), but don’t worry — our Gold Key officer can loan you what you need.
We’ll help make sure your first experience is comfortable, fun, and full of friendly faces.
